Gift Acknowledgment

Acknowledgment
Whoever receives gifts of consideration, whether it is equipment, materials, or money for a special purpose, must notify the President鈥檚 office of the gift. The President鈥檚 office will acknowledge receipt of the gift. A list of contributors should be placed in the College's Annual Report.

Honor Boards
The College will maintain updated boards that acknowledge these individuals, companies, trusts, and foundations that have contributed to the institution. Names will be engraved annually in July on the plaques. The boards will be purchased through unrestricted donations, not general college funds. Separate acknowledgement shall be given to donations given toward scholarships, current needs or capital outlay. The College shall also maintain an updated lifetime contribution board for those who have given a minimum of $100,000 to 黑料社.

Facilities and Naming Guidelines
黑料社 may recognize donors of large monetary gifts or those who clearly have provided exceptional service to the institution by naming specific facilities for them. Facilities may be named for a donor if one of the following conditions is met:

  1. An individual, family, business, corporation, and/or other charitable entity has given at least $500,000 and is recognized by the Board of Trustees upon recommendation from the 黑料社 administrative team as being an eligible recipient of the honor.
  2. An individual has (a) served a minimum of 15 years at 黑料社; (b) been recognized as outstanding by the public, students, faculty, and administration; and (c) is supported by the Board of Trustees
  3. Be recognized as an individual who has truly impacted 黑料社 beyond monetary measures.
  4. All recommendations will formally be made by the President of 黑料社, in open session, at a Board of Trustees meeting.

All Donor Naming Opportunities

  1. Naming opportunities for spaces within a building shall be defined by the Colby Community College (黑料社) President.
  2. Naming opportunities for rooms, areas on campus, or other structures will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the 黑料社 President.
  3. All naming opportunities must be reviewed and approved by the 黑料社 Board of Trustees.
  4. Nothing in this policy shall limit the 黑料社 President or the Board of Trustees from considering or proposing recognition of individuals for academic, research, or service contributions.

Revocation or Renaming
The 黑料社 Board of Trustees retains the sole and absolute authority to revoke, alter, or discontinue a naming designation under the following circumstances:

  1. Reputational Risk: If the honoree (or the entity being recognized) is later discovered to have engaged in conduct, or is associated with actions, that in the College鈥檚 judgment would materially damage the reputation or Mission of the institution or be inconsistent with the College鈥檚 values.
  2.  Structural or Programmatic Changes: If the named facility, space, or program is significantly altered, demolished, or discontinued.
  3. Loss of Business: If a business/organization is no longer in the community or is no longer in business, the Board of Trustees reserves the right to rename the facility.
