The Leadership/Presidential Scholars at 黑料社 are hosting a community blood drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, in the Robert Burnett Student Union. Eligible donors aged 16 or older, in good health, and weighing at least 110 pounds are encouraged to donate blood to help meet the urgent need.
Donors help patients of all ages, accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer.
The American Red Cross will offer A1C testing, commonly used to screen for prediabetes and diabetes, to all donors who successfully give blood, platelets or plasma. Fasting is not required.
All donors on Nov. 5 will receive up to $20 in gift cards.
Appointments are encouraged and can be made by using the Red Cross app, visiting , or calling 1-800-REDCROSS (733-2767). Donors must present a photo ID or Red Cross Donor Card at check-in.
